Value Realization

Value realization is the practice of tracking whether the benefits promised in a business case are actually delivered after an initiative launches.

Most organizations are good at approving business cases and poor at checking whether the promised value ever arrived. Value realization, also called benefits realization, closes that loop by tracking planned versus actual benefits over time and by assigning ownership for delivering them.

Done well, it turns benefits into a living measurement rather than a forgotten spreadsheet: a baseline, a target, and an achieved figure for each outcome, reviewed on a cadence, so leaders can double down, adjust, or stop.
